212.* * * WINNER of the Observer’s “Stirling Supermodel” 2009 and “Scotland’s New Face 2009”, Christina Chalk of Dunblane, has already been stunning the fashion world.
The 16-year-old student was plucked from obscurity to win both the Stirling Observer contest and then the coveted New Face crown at the Scottish Fashion Awards at Stirling Castle in June.
Now she has just done her first professional photoshoot, with stunning results.
Having already entered one of the national roadshows for the “New Face” contest, Christina faced stiff competition from girls from across the country.
The judges included former model and television personality Lisa Butcher, Warehouse marketing and PR director Lorraine Pringle, Toni&Guy creative director Austin Shirley, Daily Record fashion editor Julie Hannah and fashion publicist and founder/producer of the Scottish Fashion Awards, Tessa Hartmann.
Deliberations took weeks as the judges had to go through the thousands of entries from the roadshows and the online applicants.
Tess said: “This is only our second year with this competition and the standard of entries was amazing. We were amazed at the queues at the roadshows and the amount of online entries this year.
“I have no doubt that our winner Christina will go far. She has a unique, versatile and original look with a quiet confidence to produce great shapes.”
