New immigration fees announced
The Government has announced its proposed new immigration fees, some of which will come into effect when Tier 4 of the Points Based System (the student route) is introduced. This is likely to be at the end of March.
Entry clearance (visas) for Tier 4 will cost £145, and each dependant pays the same. If you want to extend your stay in the UK under Tier 4, it will cost £357 by post or £565 in person, plus £50 per dependant.
Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) applications will also become more expensive. Entry clearance from abroad will cost £265, and each dependant pays the same. If you want to apply in the UK, it will cost £500 by post or £700 in person, plus £50 per dependant.
